Lunch run along the waterfron with Ed, Alex, and Waseem. It was Waseem’s first day running so we took it wasy and let Alex & Ed run ahead.
I dropped Waseem off at the 3mi mark and continued for another mile around the stadium, 4mi total.

Not only am I back in the gym doing crossfit, I’m back on the road running!
My watch said 22:40min, which was way too fast. It was a fast day, my guess is my time was closer to 24min?
Easy 4mi run along the waterfront – 38min (9:30min/mi) with Alex. A beautiful day!
Intervals (CFE WOD):
This was tought, ran intervals around Safeco in the cold & wet, I almost lost track but managed to avoid doing extra sets :)
A ‘relaxing’ run, ran with a coworker for ~4mi at lunch, up the waterfront, up some stairs and down some stairs, up some hills and down some hills.
5k Time trial run: 23:30min (7:50min/mi)

Not my fastest, but decent. Started off slower keeping pace with Alex (running partner), next time I’ll ditch him at the start :)
Still getting back to the pace of things and building up my running legs, definitely not in marathon shape anymore but I’m tons stronger from doing Crossfit instead.
Crossfit Endurance day one!
Technically it was a rest day on the site, so I did Sunday’s WOD instead:
Alex and I warmed up as we ran down to Safeco Field, then started the clock & ran :) Alex dropped out half-way through – he wasn’t feeling well, probably catching the same flu his wife has, so I finished the last 3 intervals on my own.
It felt great to get my first Crossfit Endurance WOD done!
More running, going out with Alex at lunch for 3mi along the waterfront.
We finished in ~27min, Alex was able to run the whole way today. The previous two runs we’d taken a break or slowed down for the last mile.
Next I start Crossfit Endurance!
I went running today at lunch, except for last Monday it’s been a long time since I’ve done a lunch run.
I’m motivated both by losing weight (and more exercise will help with that!) and by keeping my legs fit for hiking/mountaineering. I’ll be volunteering to help teach the WAC Backcountry Travel and Mountaineering classes this spring so I need to be ready!
Run ~3mi along the waterfront, from the office up to Bell St. and back: ~24min
It felt good, even better than last Monday, showing that even a little running helps you keep your edge and is better than nothing :)
Back to running (again!). Slept through crossfit this morning, so definitely had to do something, I met Ross at lunch (he’s now working in Pioneer Square) we went for a ~3mi run along the waterfront, finishing in ~25min.
It was challenging towards the end, w/o Ross to follow I would have really petered out. Need to run more to get my legs back, I used to be able to do 5mi w/o effort!
